Sometime in September, Merit, IBM Corp, and MCI established Advanced Network and Services Inc. (ANS) ANS, a NOT FOR PROFIT organization, is to manage and operate the NSFNET backbone under subcontract to Merit Allan Weis was named President and CEO IBM and MCI are funding ANS, and Merit is providing Network Operations, Network engineering, network planning and network services. I'm not sure if Eric Aupperle (Merit President) reads this newsgroup but it would be interesting to hear Merit's feelings on this, both as a compnay and some personal feelings Anyone from Merit care to offer any insight? regards, christopher raczka DIGITAL Equipment e-mail: chris@ecdnt5.enet.dec.com phone: 313-347-5108 ============================================================================= My opinions DO NOT reflect those of DIGITAL Equipment Corporation and sometimes vice versa =============================================================================
