We were talking about NFSNet. Your "common man" can't connect to it at all. If you're talking about 1.544Mbps worldwide TCP/IP connections, with routing, nameservice, and network administration all done for you, $2000 per month is very cheap. And the price will continue to drop. On-the-order-of $100 per month Internet access is out there, too. Isn't that what PSI is doing? But you aren't going to support a supercomputer or several hundred sessions off that.
