I'm trying to find a public domain (i.e. non-copylefted) version of
the regular expression pattern matching routines that are part of GNU
Emacs.  I think I recall hearing that such a package was written by
Henry Spencer at the U. of Toronto, but I'm not certain.  Any pointers
would be greatly appreciated.  Please reply by e-mail.
