Three unrelated questions:

I have an A3000-25/50, and after I boot (2.0 from hard drive) I usually have
on the order of 100KB of free fast mem.  I know that 512K is immediately
claimed by the system, but what could it need an additional 400K for?

MED 2.00 seems to work under 1.3.  Can I expect an update to work under 2.0?

The AmigaDOS reference says that makelink creates soft links unless the keyword
"hard" is used, but it doesn't seem to accept keywords, and the links it
creates sure seem hard to me.  Does anyone know what the story is?
