My DeskJet (original) came with BOTH CEntronincs (parallel) and RS232
(serial) ports as standard equipment.

I believe the subsequent DeskJet models are also confiigured this
way.

I use the standard CBM DeskJet driver, although I hear there are 
second party drivers that are very nice.

DISCLAIMER: I don't work for the part of HP which makes printers of
            any kind. I just ues HP printers are home and at work.
            I like them. HP doesn't even give me a pat on the back
            for recommending their printers.
