A friend of mine who has ParNet working successfully came by this weekend, and we tried to get ParNet to work on the 3000/1000 (since my 1000 has no hard drive.) We did the cable cutting, soldering and everything, and set everything up as described, but after much time, we still could not get the net: device to work as it should; it would just hang, and at best give a requester that says that there is a network error. We feel confident that all the software is set up correctly, but I am curious about the parallel interface of the Amiga 1000. The reason is mainly because of the evident differences with other hardware configurations (such as my printer and my Perfect Sound digitizer) which require different pin configurations than do the 500/2000/3000. Do I need to do something additional to get the ParNet software to work with such a configuration? Please send responses (or flames) via mail, Thanks..Aaron Hightower
