The dhrystone 2 results I get using SAS 5.10 and an A3000/25-100 compiling
with
lc -v -cf -m3 -f8d -dREG=register -O -Lmt -l <fname> <fname>
is:
10000 dhrystones/sec
this is with 20000 iterations.

This is a more normal figure for the system, using -l is VERY important,
as are the other options.  I also made all the procedures __regargs, so
that arguments are not passed on the stack.
