    According to the Error Codes CDA, GS/OS error $4B (which I assume is the
same as error $804B) means "Bad Storage Type".  Maybe one of the volume bits
has been corrupted, and the Finder or Prosel is trying to write the file
"past" the end of the disk (and thus dumping your file into a Virtual Hole). 
Backup all your files on that partition onto another partition (that works),
re-format the disk, and use Prosel to lock out any bad blocks (Volume Repair
will do the job).  Hope that works.
