Stiction is when the heads get glued to the platter by too much lubricant. Short of replacing the drive, I know of two easy ways of dealing with this situation: 1. Don't shut the drive down (no, I am not kidding, just leave the PC on). 2. If you must shut the PC down, don't park the heads, and don't leave it off for very long.
