These are not to be confused with 16 bit cards that can operate in 8 bit mode. Paradise makes one such card. Such a card will work in both an XT and AT bus. As for the monitor, the VGA card, not the PC, is the determing factor. So any monitor you get will work as long as you keep the same VGA card.
