I have a Taxan Crystalview 1901 19" monochrome monitor and 
high-resolution display card on sale for $950.  The
monitor works as either a Hercules compatible or it has a proprietary
mode of 1280 x 960, and it includes a Windows 3.0 driver.  In the
high resolution mode it is an absolutely gorgeous monitor for use with
MS-Windows applications.  The *dealer* price on this monitor with the card
is around $1400.
