Can someone tell me what diagnostic error message 2402 means?

         Slot 0
         Video Graphics Array 2402
         Replace System Board

(This is what was displayed)

Also, any guesses as to why this error occurs only intermittently? (i.e.
does not occur every time I run the diagnostics on the reference disk).
