I remember playing that game a while ago- if memory serves, you have to
get a rope and climb down over the balcony, and there is a room below it.
I don't remember what you get, but eventually you can move the bookcase and 
go behind it, and break through the rear wall of the fireplace after you
put out the fire.  This will eventually lead you to you-know-who!!!

Come to think of it, I never killed him, so if you do, drop me a note.

I think it is a neat game.
