I have the same problem, and have been too lazy to do anything
about it. I got mine from MacTel. (anyone had problems with them?)

Someone also posted on this subject a while back and
indicated that this IS NOT the stiction related problem,
but may indicate a BAD BEARING which can cause the disk to freeze up!

Mine seems to work ok most of the time, but that noise is irritating,
and does slow down the performance of the drive by 100%. I don't
look forward to being without a hard disk for a week to a month...
