I need information on the new Sound Manager (7.0 or 6.0.7 OS releases).
Specifically, I need to get at the sampled data from a sound-in port, or
a serial port.

I have found the old Inside Mac info on the Sound Manager lacking, and the
Macintosh Audio Compression and Expansion kit to be overwhelming to my
purpose.

I just want to record sound and display a waveform...how tough can that be?
Can someone just point me to a book or something?

Any Farallon employees out there? ;-)
