Message-ID: <1990Oct29.034623.9028@nntp-server.caltech.edu> Date: 29 Oct 90 03:46:23 GMT Sender: news@nntp-server.caltech.edu Organization: JPL Computer Graphics Laboratory, Pasadena Lines: 36 Nntp-Posting-Host: tybalt.caltech.edu Why are you posting here? I mean, I have a Macintosh. I write software for the Mac, and have been since 1984. I like my Macintosh. And I read comp.sys.mac.misc to see what's going on out there with the rest of the Macintosh community. I'm not fanatic about the Macintosh; I also write software for IBM PCs, Sun Workstations, DEC VAX computers, and any other machine they put in front of me to write software for. I personally own a Macintosh and an IBM PC laptop. But with the price/performance ratio of the NeXT machine, I may buy one of 'em as soon as it makes sense for me to do so (which could be never...) So what do I read on comp.sys.mac.misc? Religious wars against for and against the Amiga. Not NeXT, not SUN, not IBM PC clones; Amigas. Why? To be honist, I could not give a shit about who runs what out there; if you've got an Amiga, fine; a Macintosh, I'm happy for you. A NeXT box? Good. I'm running a Macintosh. So what? You think I wasted my money? You obviously haven't seen my new car lately, either. Think I should be developing software on the environment that's the most technically superior? How do I judge superior? The Macintosh has it's problems, sure, but so does the Sun, the NeXT, the Amiga, VAX/VMS,... So I have only one thing to say to Amiga users out there who feel the need to post to comp.sys.mac.misc and let us here in the Macintosh world know what fools we were to buy and support Macintosh Computers: fuck off. Now with that off my chest, let's go back and spread some new rumors about what Cupertino is up to this week. ;-) -- William Edward Woody | Disclamer: USNAIL P.O.Box 50986; Pasadena, CA 91115 | EMAIL woody@tybalt.caltech.edu | The useful stuff in this message ICBM 34 08' 44''N x 118 08' 41''W | was only line noise.
