Let me try again. What I want to see eliminated are the following types of posts: (1) *ALL* messages saying "machine *X* is the best damned machine in the whole world, so there!" The penalty for this should be the immediate confiscation of that machine and replacement with a TRS-80 Model 1 Level 1 with 4K RAM and tape drive. (2) Any and all messages saying "for the price/performance ratio, you're stupid to buy *X*." The penalty for this will be immediate replacement with a VAX 750 and an unpaid customer support bill due immediately. Remember: decisions to buy a particular machine sometimes have nothing to do with price/ performance ratio; calling someone stupid for making a valid decision is simply imflamatory. (3) Any and all messages classifying a particular group of users in any particular way, either good or bad. The penalty for this is forced attendance of any Apple seminar lead by an Apple tech support person, if you don't use Apple products, or lunch with Steve Jobs if you *are* a user of Apple products. (4) Any and all messages concerning religious issues. There is no religion, just hardware. And there is no bad hardware; just hardware which suits a purpose better than another. There was a person way back when who wanted to know if he could detect a Macintosh emulator to disable it. My only responce to him is to put the following message into his technical documentation or user's manual: "We do not endorce, nor can we support, non-Apple products." My only point is this: there is enough religion over in the Saudi desert to start World War III. We don't need the religion infecting comp.sys.mac.misc, or *any* newsgroup over here, too. -- William Edward Woody | Disclamer: USNAIL P.O.Box 50986; Pasadena, CA 91115 | EMAIL woody@tybalt.caltech.edu | The useful stuff in this message ICBM 34 08' 44''N x 118 08' 41''W | was only line noise.
