  No, but if you are tracking things down by trial and error it's made a bit
easier.  If you hold down all the modifier keys during the boot, the system
automatically disables ALL INITs, and says "Extensions Disabled" on the
Welcome to Macintosh screen.

  That way, if you have crashes on boot, you can at least boot up without a
spare startup disk.
