The Sun 'soundtool' is an excellent recording/editing tool. It would benefit from some features regarding editing, such as cut/paste buffer handling, and an OpenWindows version would be nice, but in general the Sun people who created it deserves a lot of credit. You will find it under /usr/demo/SOUND if you are running SunOS 4.1
