Keywords: Miscellaneous Message-ID: <1990Nov2.002730.10959@rice.edu> Date: 2 Nov 90 00:20:00 GMT Sender: sun-spots-request@rice.edu Organization: Sun-Spots Lines: 16 Approved: Sun-Spots@rice.edu Originator: spots@titan.rice.edu X-Sun-Spots-Digest: Volume 9, Issue 355, message 11 X-Original-Date: Thu, 11 Oct 90 16:11:26 PDT I can do the following: % cd /my/favorite/read/only/nfs/file/system % cat some.file >> another.file % vi another.file And ... guess what? No errors from "cat", and "vi" tells me that I successfully did it. Just to verify it, I went to the NFS server and reverified that the append worked. Why is this possible?
