We're running SPARCS on 4.0.3, poised to plunge into 4.1 land. At another site, we would like the capability of driving a PostScript printer using the enscript command, as well as being able to blindly send text, screendumps, real postscript, and so forth, to a non-Sun postscript printer, and have it gracefully produce the expected forms of output. I think that Sun's TranScript does this for us with the LaserWriter. My question: what are some sources of software for transparently driving a PostScript printer from Unix, and also provide the enscript command? I will also welcome comments about using real Transcript with a non-Sun printer. Please reply directly to me if you have an answer, or if you would like a summary.
