The TeX 3.0 we have here performs the following terrible hyphenation:
in response to \showhyphens{Younes} it echos

 \tenrm Y-ounes

and splits the word as shown across a line break, while TeX 2.9 echos

 \tenrm Younes

and refuses to break the word, which is right.

Do we have a broken installation of 3.0 or is 3.0 itself broken?  If
the answer isn't obvious, what other attempts could be made to diagnose
the problem?
