Hmm.. Slip works for you on your Computone - but it doesn't for me.  Are  
you using hardware flow control (or any flow control) with your Computone
ports?

yes - I got it just fine - let us know what you find out from Latchman -
(like maybe supporting multiple SLIP connections)..
