  I have another problem with Ultrix 4.0 and Fortran V2.1 (also with 2.0).
  Some programs, fortunately benchmarks, compiled with Fortran 2 run
  forever.  There are at least 2 or 3 such programs in the benchmark suite.

  Under Ultrix 3.1 and Fortran V1 there were no problems, Fortran version
  of whetstone ran in about 7 seconds on DECstation 5000. 
 
  The Ultrix V3 & Fortran V1  compiled version of a.out ran well
  under V4.0 (about 7 seconds). 

  Well, let's test the new compiler with benchmarks to see if it's
  better, thinks me and gets a bunch of forever running programs.
  Fortunately the benchmarks are the only  bad programs. 
  But obviously there are bugs somewhere...

  Local Digital Ultrix specialist has been aware of this now 
  over a month.  Why doesn't she call me?
