Sounds familiar. I posted a similar plea a few weeks ago, though I have reason to believe that my posts are not getting out properly. Same problem. AT clone, 2M, AMI bios. Paintbrush crashes in standard mode with 'Unrecoverable application error'. OK in real mode. Fortunately I stumbled across a workaround. My machine operates at 8 MHz and 12 MHz. Paintbrush will NOT crash at 8 MHz on my machine. Likewise, all other applications run properly at 12 MHz. I'm still puzzled, but I can live with paintbrush at 8 MHz. HTH...
