I have heard about a package called DESQview/X by Quarterdeck. This runs under MS-DOS and is an extension of their older DESQview package, with one important difference: it has a built-in X-server. This allows you to multitask DOS applications, local X-applications *and* X-applications running on a UNIX server. Unfortunately, your PC needs to be on an ethernet. This package has not been released yet (so it's still vapourware, right?), but I understand that some developers have been given beta copies. In fact I'm supposed to be getting a copy real soon now.
