Vocal Eyse should work fine on your laptalker.  Willie has a
laptalker.  If I am not mistaken, that laptop uses an asp card for
speech, doesn't it?  You know, the one from Automated Functions
INC?  If that is the case, there is a driver just for that speech
card.  Vocal eyes comes with a bunch of drivers, so you shouldn't
have a problem getting it to work with just abouat any speech
device.  As for a speech card for your 386, I would reccomend the
sounding board.  In my opinion, it is the best and most responsive
card available in its price range.  You will probably get many
other opinions on this because everybody has different tastes on
what they want their speech device to sound like, but the  real key
here I think is responsiveness.  The external type speech units all
lag behind any of the internal cards in that department.

Glad to see that my messages are reaching you.  Good luck finding
the equipment you want.  The sounding board and Vocal eyes are
available from GW Micro.  Doug Geoffray, the author of Vocal Eyes,
has already left you mesage herre with his address and phone
number.  They have a package deal on the sounding board/vocal eyes
combination where you can save a few bucks if you buy them
