Keywords: PC TCPIP ks Message-ID: <2849@gmuvax2.gmu.edu> Date: 8 Nov 90 22:51:11 GMT Organization: George Mason Univ., Fairfax, Va. Lines: 27 Hi. I am not familiar with LAN. So, please execuse me if my question is so simple or doesn't make sense. In my office, there are 6 PC's, 1 MAC and 1 X-terminal. Every PC and X-term are connected to mainframs through a broadband net with TCP/IP On PC's I am using PC TCP/IP from FTP software Inc with Sytek LANNA card. One MAC is connected APPLETALK and the APPLETALK is connected to the broadband net, too. So,from each PC and MAC or X, I can access the mainframs and can upload and download. What I want is how I can exchange the files between PC's or with MAC and use PC program with X-terminal. IMHO I need a software which makes PC as a server. 1. What software can I use in my environment? 2. Is here any public FTPable one? 3. How much will it cost? 4. Any suggestion? I don't mean only down&up load between PC's. Yes. I have one 386 PC with 130M HD. I may use it as a server if it need. Thank you for your help. skahng@gmuvax2.gmu.edu skahng@gmuvax.bitnet
