Sounds like there's a getty battle going on at one of the two
modems.  Make sure that they're set-up right for a getty.  A
hang-up usually indicates that E1 and Q0 should be set to E0
and Q6, possibly.

Anyways, call TELEBIT at 1-800-TELEBIT and have them e-mail you
the UNIX.setup and UNIXPC.setup guides.  You can down load these
(UUCP) from UUNET [~ftp/telebit-info/UNIX.setup.Z] via their
1-900-GOT-SRCS number and an nuucp/uucp (?) login or direct, if
you have a uunet uucp account.  Let me know if you have any
