When I tried to compile a program, (which had compiled nice
on a SUN workstation with both gcc and cc) on one of our old
VAX 11/750 I got the fantastic error

 .. line 2706 compiler error: schain botch

(4.3 BSD and cc)

Does anyone have any clue to what that means ?
