I'm printing text using a user-defined bitmap font through a clip.  When the 
clip-path is rectangular, it prints really fast.  Any other clipping shape 
(triangle, arbitrary polygon, etc.) takes a million years. 

Most of the font definition code has been taken from the example in the
Blue Book.

I wonder if someone has an insight into this?
