Message-ID: <15350004@hpmcaa.mcm.hp.com> Date: 5 Nov 90 23:52:38 GMT Organization: HP McMinville Division Lines: 11 I would like if one could inform me about the word-value at offset 28 in the BOOT-SECTOR. So far the only thing I know about it is: "Number of special reserved sectors" what are they? bad-sectors? I've stubbled on two boot sectors that differ on this value (one 0009 and the other 3000hex=48decimal) although the hard-disks are identical? So far I believed that similar type hard-disks will have identical data in offsets 11-29 (hard-disk technical info). Can someone correct me on this? Any information would be appreciated.
