Call Microware and talk to a marketing type.  Said person will be happy to
send you free a couple of books: one with an overview of OS-9/68000, and one
with an overview of OS-9000.  (They are rather similar, but then, the OSs
are rather similar.)

There's also a good discussion of scheduling and IPC in Peter Dibble's book
*OS-9 Insights*, which is available, but not for free, from Microware.
