Message-ID: <11427@hubcap.clemson.edu> Date: 7 Nov 90 14:14:33 GMT Sender: fpst@hubcap.clemson.edu Organization: University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada Lines: 13 Approved: parallel@hubcap.clemson.edu Hello! We recently received some promotional literature from Meiko Scientific Corp. advertising rather significant discounts on their 'Computing Surface' products for educational institutions. We are considering the acquisition of a small parallel processor system for design and verification of parallel algorithms. We figure that we can put together an 8 processor(1M/processor) Meiko system in a VME based Sun workstation for about $25K, software included. Can anyone give me the low down on these products or offer suggestions for other systems which are also in the ~$25K range. Please send your replies to 'pgraham@silver.cs.umanitoba.ca'. If you are interested in seeing the results e-mail me to that effect and, given enough interest, I will summarize and post. Much thanks in advance. Peter Graham
