Hi,
Thanks to all who replied. There were two problems.

1. I needed to have a /erpcd/bfs/gateways file
that specified a default gateway.

2. (This one I don't understand) The problem turned
out to be our cisco gateway security filters.

We have them set to allow tcp in only to ports 1023 & above.
(Standard set up). While using the debug icmp I could see that
we were sending out 'destination unreachables'. I added a filter
to allow any host to talk to our annex (any port) and it works.

I guess the annex does not set up its tcp connections to use
ports 1023 & above like normal systems (at least ones I'm
used to).
