I'm convinced we should implement NNTP (network news transfer protocol) and encourage users to use nntp front ends, such as the NetNews reader for the Mac done by Harry Chesley. This is a request for some help in: 1. Finding the appropriate newsgroup to start a discussion? It's not at all clear to me where NNTP discussions go. 2. Investigating the two big barriers that NNTP faces here: a. How can you charge back to support a service whose main virtue is that it does not require a user account to use? b. What front ends for NNTP are available for boxes other than Mac's, especially DOS boxes. 3. Finding Harry Chesley's email address? Please respond by mail ... I'll move the thread appropriately. Thanks - Robert
