I have shar/unshar/makekit, but there seems to be more.  What software
is used to take a large file or files and split it into a multi-part
archive with the 
BEGIN--cut here--cut here
and
END--cut here--cut here
lines in each archive?

Such archives are posted to the source and binary newsgroups.  Is there
a program or shell script that builds such things?  Presumably it
would split the input, run shar and maybe uuencode, and generate the
output files.
