Only if the local AFP implementation has such a call. I recommend you read the
chapter on ASP, and any previous chapters until you get a feel for how many
levels of software each AFP packet has to go through and what is done at each
level. Then read the section "AFP's use of ASP" and things should become a lot
clearer.
