Keywords: Appleworks, II+ Message-ID: Date: 8 Nov 90 22:59:11 GMT Organization: IntelliGenetics, Inc. Lines: 30 I'm trying to determine whether I should continue my attempt to provide my nephew with an Appleworks machine. Your expert advice would be appreciated, since I've been out of the Apple II community for too long to be current on Apple II issues anymore. Basically, my nephew has my old hardware plus some other odds and ends, giving him a configuration that includes: II+ processor Shift key mod Language card Serial cards (AIO and California Computer Products?) Viewmaster-80 80 column card 2 Apple 5.25" drives 1 3rd party 5.25 drive He's in the 7th grade and his school uses Apple IIs with Appleworks. If it's possible to get Appleworks to run on the hardware he has, he could make good use of the machine. My questions are: Can Appleworks run on a II+ or is a IIe required? If it runs, will it run well enough to be useful and not just frustrating? Is there anything I could add to the system to make it (more) useful? Please respond by e-mail--I'll summarize what I get...and thanks in advance. --John
