ATW (the Apple Technical Warehouse) has been absorbed by APDA, and Bowden's (which still carries some of ATW's stuff) doesn't carry the type of product I'm looking for. I phoned APDA, and they're sending me an application to join (or re-join). You see, I can't buy the book unless I'm a member. I can't be a member until I sign the Letter Of Assurance (to make sure I don't take it to Iraq, I guess). Now, it seems to me a bit strange that I have to go through this nonsense (Letter of Assurance) to buy a book that I would otherwise be able to get in a store without the Letter of Assurance. I have purchasd all three Toolbox Ref's in downtown Toronto. If I wanted even these from APDA the L.O.A would still be necessary. At any rate, I've asked a librarian to see if it can be ordered directly from Addison-Wesley (in Canada)... something that I can't do, and maybe get around this. By the way, for the record, I have no intention of taking myself, my Apple IIGS, or any of my other hardware/software/books to Iraq, Cuba, Lybia, etc. You'd think that exceptions could be made for some products.
