Summary: Does anyone know how to drive the B&W video board from a VS2000? Keywords: VAX, QVSS, Q-bus Message-ID: <1670@merlin.bhpmrl.oz.au> Date: 8 Nov 90 07:37:17 GMT Sender: usenet@bhpmrl.oz.au Lines: 17 I am interested in using the Q-bus video board from a Vax station 2000 in a non-VMS application. Does anyone have the source code for any drivers, or any information as to the registers and memory mapping that it uses? It is driving a 19" black & white VR260 monitor, and comes from (I think) an SV-LV55W-EN system. VMS seems to think it's a QVSS or something. The DEC board number is M7602 (not that that seems to help much). I have found out the registers to talk to the 6845, 9519 and 2681, but that still leaves 12 registers of unknown function. The video seems to be memory-mapped, but there are some extra 64-bit and 2kx8 RAMs that I don't even know the purpose of, let alone how to address them. I know that it's more of a challenge to work it all out by trial-and-error, but I'm getting lazy in my old age. Replies via e-mail will help compensate for my erratic news reading (address is iane@merlin.bhpmrl.oz). Thanks.
