If you really want to stretch things, why didn't you keep your HP28 and force the person who you sold it to, to go buy their own in addition to buying your own ? And thereby, making HP a better profit ? That's loyal ! But just because you went and bought your calculator right away is no test of loyalty. |>->So I hold nothing against HP (except for I wish the deadline had been longer) |>I disagree here. No I just said the TOUGH SH*T attitude is tough attitude to have towards your customers. Did I say anything about the promo being extended forever ? Hmmm, I must have missed that. |>->This only tells me that maybe I should wait on buying in case another |>->promotion comes around or some other brand has a good deal... |>Another brand? There is no other brand... and you call yourself loyal... Sounds like to me you are bitter (i.e. kicking yourself in the butt) for buying too soon. Sounds like to me if you had been a little more patient, you would have had been able to take advantage of the offer too. I'm sorry but not everyone spends all their time waiting hand and foot for HP to get a new product out. So some of us (at least me) probably didn't have any idea that a 48SX existed. Like I said before, I didn't find out about comp.sys.handhelds until I started looking for a new HP. I like the HP48 but I can tell you now that I will never use it nearly as much as you do. But I would have used the equation card... In others words, I like the HP48, but I don't "sleep" with it so obviously I want the best deal possible. It took me time to find out with calculator had the things I needed and whether or not I need to pay the extra $$ for the HP48 over the 28. If you are familiar with a new products, I would hope that even you'd research before rushing out and buying it. Next, there is a difference between loyal and blind stupidity. I think I'm loyal simply in the fact that I didn't even consider another calculator initially. I'll stay loyal until I feel like I missed something. And I do feel like I've missed something - I think you do too. But looking around only keeps people/businesses honest. HP is still my number one preference but I see nothing with making sure someone isn't giving me more for my money. HP wasn't always the best - at some point loyal customers of another brand had to realize HP was offering a better product and make the switch. Lastly, (as I said before) I hold nothing against HP. I'm really pissed at the salesman who didn't know his products or bother to inform me of any "fall promotion". If he did, I'd have both my HP48 and an equation card. Peace. -- /-------------------------------------------------------\ | Kevin Minor ...uunet!motcid!minor | \-------------------------------------------------------/
