May be it's a HP specific problem, may be it could be a general one. If we export filesystems from the HP to another host, or to the world, all the files created or modified by this host will get an uid of "-2". This is independent of which user on the host creates the file, that is "root" or "someoneelse" are treated identically. This problem leads to the fact, that I have to give rwx - rights to anyone, to allow for modification/ creation of files. Unfortunately this causes a lot of security problems in a NFS environment. I would appreciate, if someone could give me some hints how to solve this problem, if there exists a solution at all.
