For the V's, one can try the Wollongong offering which will give you Telnet/FTP/etc... For the XL's you need to wait for "Telnet/XL" (actually, it uses the DTC but... ;-) Which will provide a solution whereby the DTC takes an incomming Telnet connection and turns it into a 'DTC connection' to the XL hosts system. Outbound connections would be established from/by the DTC. The stated advantage of this method is to off-load the character stream processing onto the DTC, freeing the XL host to to useful work. Your friendly neighborhood sales rep should have some more information about the DTC/Telnet solution for XL.
