i am attempting to run a licence server program "maitre'd" on an HP 9000/360
with HP-UX 6.5

however, it appears that the gethostname() system call is returning a null

the hostname command correctly returns the hostname, which is cad1

is there a bug with gethostname()

is there a different behaviour (ie is it fixed) in HP-UX 7.0? or 8.0?
