Lines: 16 Assuming that you have kept up to date with TOPS (TOPS currently is at 3.0), your biggest problem may be your network design. Networks that are built up over time and without any real plan often get into trouble. AppleTalk has limit in length. Make certain that you do not have any extra cuts in the lines. If these two Macs are at the ends of a long daisy chain you may need to install terminating resistors at the end.
