Message-ID: <25673@dartvax.Dartmouth.EDU> Date: 9 Nov 90 19:04:03 GMT Sender: news@dartvax.Dartmouth.EDU Organization: Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH Lines: 18 Originator: thomas@eleazar.dartmouth.edu What do people think is the best mac grammar checker? It needs to be compatible with word 4.0, and I'd really prefer that I not have to run it as a separate application. Those that run separately require you to close the document from the word processor before you can open it into the checker. Correct Grammar 1.0 (the only checker I have tried) requires this, and it is a big pain. I would rather it be seamless, like Coach Professional. I wasn't very impressed with CG 1.0's rules. It didn't catch several incorrect uses of to vs. too. It also has no clue about comma usage. My biggest priority for a grammar checker is that it catch contextual errors where a word is spelled correctly but isn't the right word. To vs. too for example. These are mistakes that slip by spelling checkers. I'll summarize replies and repost. Thanks, Thomas Summerall
