Summary: What's available for mac plus? Keywords: minix, etc Message-ID: <9824@helios.TAMU.EDU> Date: 4 Nov 90 20:34:16 GMT Sender: usenet@helios.TAMU.EDU Followup-To: comp.sys.mac.misc Distribution: usa Organization: Texas A&M University Lines: 18 I'm interested in UNIX on my mac plus. I just received MINIX 1.5 but i've heard of other systems available. MacIdris and MachTen are the others. MINIX is not a true operating system - it's more of a unix environment since it runs as a normal macintosh application. Are these other systems true OS's, or are they just "fake" os's, running on top of Mac/OS? I'd appreciate the addresses of the above companies so I could track down some information. Any comments are welcome. +----------------------+------------------------+ | Brent Burton | n138ct@tamuts.tamu.edu | | Texas A&M University | brentb@nuchat.UUCP | +----------------------+------------------------+
