We tried to use this turkey: couldn't get it to work with ANY mac that had another SCSI device. That includes any hard drive, including your internal hard drive. If you've got a floppy-only Plus or SE, perhaps the NEC quasi-portable (it's not very shock-resistant either) is a good choice. But it won't grow with you.
