I downloaded a program called "deskpicture 1.0" which will work on color screens. "Backdrop" I was told, only works on b&w screens. The only snag I ran into was that I don't know how to use ResEdit and the painting program I had didn't save the picture in the right format. So I had to use the program "giffer" to convert a PICT file to a Res=0 file. It works like a charm. Thanks again. ---------- David Ruby daver@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu University of Illinois "This calls for a special blend of psychology and extreme violence" vyvyan
